The day was not off to a good start, as my morning search for cupcakes ended because the bakery was nowhere to be found. I instead turned off the access road and into a wall of sea monsters with a growling stomach at 10:20 am determined to "stick with the plan." An unexpected text then came from a friend for "dim sum at 11" meant 20 minutes to shoot because I NEVER turn down dim sum. And thus, these photos turned out to be best from the bunch.
I try not to get worked up about perfection. Photos don't always turn out the way I envisioned them to be. Photo #2, for instance, was a product of clumsiness. In the course of 10 seconds, I leapt over a small ditch, tried to jump into a pose, and ended up losing my balance as the camera timer went off. Hence, the resulting "deer in headlights" look and completely awkward stance. This is not a pose that normal people do. Any witness to this one-woman circus show would have certainly gotten a laugh... or many.
The nice thing about personal style is that you can be whoever you want to be on any given day, regardless of mistakes. Today, I was channeling Super Secret Space Agent at Sea, so I promised myself nothing would get me down. Metallics have the ability to make anyone wearing them feel like a winner; so when I do wear them, I try to be a little bolder. Coupled with the universe on my chest, I mean to exude a thematic "to infinity and beyond."
There won't be any other blog posts this week, but please stay tuned! It's going to be a busy week because I'm leaving Austin, TX in T minus 30 days.
