In between all the "mostly serious" shoots for Inspirely lately (check out my recent posts here and here), it's nice to occasionally put something a little more fun. For those who know me in person, you know I can't resist animal-faced apparel. My all-time favorite top (owned by my own mother in the 80s) has yet to make an appearance on this blog; it's the most fabulous pink tee with a giant glittery tiger face adorned with painted flowers. It's time to shine will eventually come, just not today.
This lion gem of a top was found for a few bucks at a Buffalo Exchange in Austin, TX about a year ago. Paired with these very literal rolled up "mom-shorts" (also passed down from my mama), I feel like I've walked out of another era. Era Badassery, that is— pardon my French.
If you're noticing the amazing backdrop in the pictures, this stadium is part of a public track at a local middle school. The Husband ran at the track this morning and when we pulled up to the school, we were just as surprised as anyone to see the stands newly painted all in white. Needless to say, I did not hesitate to set up shop in front of all the early morning joggers and walkers to take advantage of this opportunity. The lion fears and regrets nothing.
Update (8/10/15): I did previously think about writing this post from a political stance, but chose not to. What I do want to share is if you are at all moved or saddened by the tragic events of #CecilTheLion, you can (like me) give back on National Geographic via their #5forBigCats cause here.
